Huchuy Qosqo is the name given to an Inca archaeological site and ancient citadel built by the Inca Viracocha in the early fifteenth century. Due to the passage of time and the destruction caused during the colonial period, the site is in a poor state of preservation. Even so, it is still possible to observe its terraces, enclosures, rooms, water fountains and more. There is a section of the Inca trail that leads there. This route is part of the 3 days and 2 nights trek known as ‘Huchuy Qosqo trek’, which ends in the Inca city of Machu Picchu.
