7 Lakes Ausangate Trek

We’re getting picked up from the hotel at 4 a.m. in a private van. The plan is to drive to this town called Pacchanta, which is super close to the amazing Ausangate mountain (6,384 m / 20,945 ft). The town itself is at 4,200 m (13,779 ft) above sea level. We’ll have breakfast there. Then we start our hike to see the beautiful 7 lakes of Ausangate. It’s about a 6 km walk to the first lake, taking maybe 2 hours. We’ll pass a bunch of different lakes in the Andes, and the whole hike is around 10 km, so about a 5-hour walk in total. After the hike, we go back to the Pacchanta community. We can finally relax in the hot springs and have a delicious lunch before we get in the car and head back to Cusco. It sounds like an incredible day.
