The adventure kicks off with a hotel pickup between 4:30 and 4:45 am. If your accommodation is outside the city center, we’ll pick you up from our office building. Around 5:00 am, our private transportation begins the two-hour journey to the town of Combapata. Here, you’ll enjoy a local breakfast made from regional cereals like quinoa, quiwicha, and maca.
Continuing for another 15 minutes, we reach the Combapata viewpoint, offering stunning vistas where the Salcca River meets the Vilcanota, the Sacred River of the Incas. We proceed to Yanaoca, then drive 30 minutes more to the Q’ewe district, catching our first glimpse of the ancient bridge suspended between steep rock cliffs as we descend into the Apurimac canyon.
After leaving the car, we descend to a viewpoint for photos and then carefully cross the bridge together, receiving a brief history and construction demonstration from the bridge attendant. Prepare for an adrenaline rush as you navigate the swaying bridge, offering an unforgettable experience suspended above the river below.
After the bridge visit, we head to the regions of the four famous lakes: Pampamarca, Asnacqoccha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi. Nestled like jewels in the hills, the lakes shine in the afternoon sun, accompanied by native flamingos and other birds. A lakeside picnic concludes our adventure before exploring Rumi Punku, with a return to Cusco around 4:30 pm.
